Reflections

Looking back over the last several months, I can see how much I have learned not only about the library world and technology but also about myself. And I have been pleasantly surprised!

One thing I have discovered about myself is that "I Can"!!
Before 27Things, I felt myself staying far behind in the technology know-how department. I didn't have a clue as to what was out there and just how easy it is to learn it. Now, I at least know what the world is talking about and involved in and it feels great!

My favorite things about 27Things was Flickr. I discovered a photographer within me! I remember when we first started blogging, I described myself as someone who was okay at a few things but had yet to find that one thing that I was just mad about. Well thanks to KCLS, I've found it. And I can surely say, my life will never be the same again. :)

I also loved the way we all came together at the work place. In our little "cul de sac" down in CMS, I could feel the love! ;) When anyone had a question, or needed step-by-step help, there was someone always ready to share what they had learned.

There really isn't much I would change about the program. It really worked for me and I am so glad and grateful it was made available to us. I really do hope that these learning challenges will continue. I know it has really expanded my horizon!

If I could step back in time and advice myself as to whether I should participate. I would tell myself, "Do it, girl!!!"

My suggestion for a new Web 2.0 topic I'd like to learn about...keeping updated on all the new technology that is coming out daily! Or maybe even an in depth study of a few things we touched upon in this program.

Thank you so much, everyone that was involved with this program and to KCLS for making it possible. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, I'm a better person and employee because of it.

Podcasts

Podcasts are an amazing tool. Being able to not only read 27 things but to also hear interview clips added another depth to the learning experience, what could be called, '3-D learning'! :)
I was also amazed at how simple it is to record your own podcasts. In fact, I informed my brother about podcasts, so he could add podcasts with interviews, tips, etc. to his blog (Mark's Blog ) for small business owners. He was very interested in the idea and will look further into it.

I think he was pretty impressed with my " tech-knowledge." :) That of course, made me feel very smart. Thank you KCLS. :)

New Adventure Leads To Sentences

Chose my own adventure the other day, it lead me to true stories in onesentence.

But I Betcha!

I found Nia last year and am thrilled I was able to post this little diva in my blog! I am a huge fan!!

It's a Google World

Wow! I had no idea all of this existed! But I do now :)
I think I could use the online software. There have been times at home when our home computers crashed and we pretty much lost our documents and spreadsheets. (yes, I know I need to make back-ups).
Anyway, I sent Google docs and Zoho tours over to where my husband works. They just had an incident where they lost months of reports and it wasn't a very happy time in there little corner of Issaquah. I'm pretty sure this will help them. I think I prefer Zoho, I like the 'feel' and 'look' of it.

Google Labs...IT'S ALIVE!!!
*chuckle* couldn't resist :)
I read Snoodle's blog about the how the Brain from "Pinky and the Brain" fame, should team up with Google to take over the world. I love that cartoon! And I agree, maybe finally Brain will have a chance. :)

Library 2.0

About Library 2.0- all I know is this, KCLS27things Learning 2.0 has been such an awesome and amazing experience!

All Googlie

Well I believe I've gone and created a Google custom search engine. I'm still trying to figure out how it all came about, but I am thrilled that it did.

There are several (or a couple?) more weeks left to complete this Learning 2.0 challenge. I do have some catching up to do so I am grateful we do have this extra time to play catch-up.

So far, this has been quite enjoyable. It's been great reading others' blogs and getting a deeper glimpse of what they are all about, how they think, what they like, dislike. There have been times when just by reading others' blogs, I was able to learn something new from their perspectives.

Good job all!
